Take Me Back To The Ball Game

When Freya arrived in Chicago we first went to Millenium Park.

After that we took a look round Navy Peir.

I particularly enjoyed the Chicago Cultural Centre, it had an exhibition of photographs of abandoned and deteriorating theatre-like buidlings which was very interesting.

This was in the Architecture Museum, the space between the buildings and the water is Millenium Park.

We visited a building which had a stone or brick from many famous places, including the Great Wall of China, the original tomb of Abraham Lincoln, the Sydney Opera House, the Colusseum and Antartica.

After that, we headed to Oak Road Beach to enjoy the sun.

This was up the John Hancock Tower.

And in the evening we went to a White Sox game. The Sox put on a great show and won convincingly.

Fireworks celebrated each home run.

This is Charles Gustavus Wicker "depicted sweeping the floor because when he served as a state legislator, a friend saw him sweeping a Chicago polling place and asked why he was "doing that?" Wicker, who also served as a railroad president at the time, replied: "Because it was dirty."" Wicker was known to do whatever it took to get the job done, setting a great example I thought.

I don’t usually take pictures of my food, but here we had Chicago’s famous deep dish pizza. Crust, filling, crust, cheese, sauce. Delicious!
