The Grand Canyon and Vegas Baby

I moved up in the world and flew from Calgary to San Francisco (a nice change from long bus rides). While I was waiting in the airport I decided that instead of staying in San Fran for a few nights I would head down to Vegas to see the Grand Canyon before my tour started. I was excited to see an Air New Zealand plane parked in San Francisco.

While I was waiting for the bus to Vegas I wandered down to the grocery store - an interesting walk. There's no way the car would get a WOF in NZ.

I arrived in Vegas in the evening and was ready at 6am the next morning for my trip to the Grand Canyon. I have seen a lot of desert and been on Route 66.

The Grand Canyon was incredible!!! The earth is truely a magnificent work of art. I thought I wouldn't get the chance to see it and I'm glad I did!

More desert on the way back :)

Back in Vegas I met up with my tour group, the majority of whom are Australian - and all very friendly. We went to a variety show which was a lot of fun, and then for a limo ride down the strip.

Leaving Vegas for Bass Lake we saw a lot of wind turbines. I like turbines a lot, but I know they aren't a perfect solution.
