My next stop was Calgary.
For those unfamiliar with the city, the Calgary Stampede in July is a key attraction. I went for a wander around the stampede grounds, where everything was in full swing preparing for next month.
Every city seems to have its tower.
I really liked this park,
and this is from Prince's Island Park, a gorgeous little island to the north of the city connected to the city by footbridges.
This is the Peace Bridge, the middle strip is a cycle lane.
One of my favourite things about Calgary was the pedestrian mall down the middle of town, called Stephen Avenue, it was very lively and had a great atmosphere.
