Halifax was a great place, it kind of made me think of Wellington. The girls are English and said it was just like going to the seaside back home. I don't think I appreciate the ocean as much as I should. On the Cabot Trail the German girl would stop and take pictures every time we saw the ocean.
It's taking some getting used to that so much in Canada is seasonal. The hostels and camping grounds open over the next month, and the icecream and craft shacks were laregly closed along Halifax's waterfront.
This is the Citidel in Halifax, it was awesome to see and look around.
Rachel and I caught the ferry to Dartmouth, Halifax is in the background.
The next day I went for a long walk to Pleasant Point Park with an Australian from the hostel - it was really cool and had remnants from Halifax's war defence.
The Saturday market was lovely, with the Haligonian's selling their arts and crafts and tasty treats.
From Halifax Freya and I travelled on to Cape Breton Island together. The morning after we arrived at the hostel a few of us went for a hike up a cliff. Unfortunately Freya was unwell and couldn't come. In the afternoon it was the Cabot Trail - where we saw a moose! The scenery was beautiful, and very foggy!
