Weekend Retreat

I live at the “House of Friendship” and on the weekend we had a retreat to a chalet north of Montreal. The van in which we went had two dvd players built into the roof, and was very much a vehicle of luxury – needless to say it was an enjoyable journey. We drove past many ski fields in a row, it looked beautiful with the strips of white and lights down the mountain. The chalet was very flash and a photo is below.

I baked a banana cake for dessert and had to substitute milo for cocoa for the icing, which was interesting but seemed to turn out fine. It is interesting all the little differences between here and New Zealand - they don't have milo here, and I frequently have to repeat myself so people understand what I'm saying. On Saturday, we went snowshoeing on the lake, which was lots of fun! When we returned to Montreal the snow had started to melt, it's quite slushy now.
